What will life in the future be like as the line between human and machine starts to blur? Well, if it’s anything like the aptly titled short film Posthumanismaniarama!, life will be kind of ridiculous, even when the technology is working exactly as it should.
While exploring our technological future, writer and director Casey Duke Feldman uses Posthumanismaniarama! to poke fun at our obsession with the latest gadget specifications, the problems biohacking can’t solve, and our discomfort with the way technology might interact with our bodies. It culminates in one crowning moment of absurdity when an innovation proves brilliant, distressing, and hilarious all at once.
