Intruders Gets A Release Date And A Creep-tastic New Trailer

Our first couple glimpses of Intruders, BBC America’s new series about a secret society that seeks to attain immortality by possessing other people’s bodies, were seriously spooky. This new, extended trailer continues the trend. Oh – and the show now has an official release date!

The show, which is based on Michael Marshall Smith’s novel ‘The Intruders’ and is being written and produced by The X-Files’ Glen Morgan, is set to premier August 23 at 10/9 central. We’re not entirely sure what to expect, but with Morgan at the helm, and talent like John Simms and Mira Sorvina signed on, we’re excited to see if this show can match the depth and scope of BBC America’s current breakout success, Orphan Black.

Here are more details from BBC:

Intruders is based on Michael Marshall Smith’s novel ‘The Intruders’ and is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. John Simm (Life on Mars, State of Play, Doctor Who) plays Jack Whelan and is joined by Oscar® winning Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite, Norma Jean & Marilyn, Human Trafficking) playing his wife Amy. The cast also includes James Frain (The White Queen, Tron: Legacy) as Shepherd, Tory Kittles (True Detective) as Gary Fischer and introduces ten-year-old Millie Brown (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland) as Madison.

Under the direction of Eduardo Sanchez (Blair Witch Project, Exists) and Daniel Stamm (13 Sins, The Last Exorcism), the creative team includes acclaimed production designer Mark Freeborn (Breaking Bad). The series is executive produced by Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner for BBC Worldwide Productions, Glen Morgan and Rose Lam (The L Word).
