Hey, guys. I’m sort of taking the day off from news – finishing up some freelance and doing a lot of behind-the-scenes catch up for Gizmodo – but this was just too interesting not to talk about. Newsweek is reporting that TiVo and NetFlix are planning on releasing a system that would allow subscribers of both services to download movies and television programs directly to their TiVos over broadband. There’s no confirmation from the companies yet, but this could be huge. If they could figure out a way to let us take TiVoToGo onto mobile media devices, we could finally have an all-you-can-eat, legal video download option.
